    CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines โ€” The Basic Education Department of Southern de Oro Philippines College gathered students, parents, teachers, and their families for its annual Family Day 2026, featuring a series of activities designed to strengthen family relationships and foster community among members of the school.

    Anchored on the theme โ€œBuilding Stronger Families, Stronger Futures,โ€ the celebration emphasized the importance of family involvement and quality time in nurturing students and building a supportive school community.

    The event opened with a colorful parade featuring students from different grade levels in their respective grade-level shirts. It was followed by the opening program, which officially set the stage for a day of activities and community engagement.

    As the activities came to a close, SPC Family Day 2026 left students, parents, and teachers with shared experiences and memories that reflected the celebrationโ€™s central message: stronger families help build stronger futures.

    SPC – ASEAN Celebration 2026

    On August 27, 2026, the Philippines celebrated the ASEAN celebration with the theme of unity, friendship, and cooperation among Southeast Asian nations. Southern de Oro Philippines College was represented by Mr. Noel C. Dumaguing, Department Head of Arts and Sciences, who attended the annual ASEAN celebration spearheaded by CHED and HEIs of Region 10 at the Peopleโ€™s Gymnasium in Tangub City.

    The event featured a grand procession, synchronized ROTC officials and usherettes, a symbolic display of the ASEAN flag, country presentations, cultural dances, and inspiring messages from distinguished academic and government leaders, including CHED Region 10 officials, Tangub City Mayor Hon. Sabiniano S. Canama, and Central Mindanao University President Dr. Rolito G. Eballe. Other academic leaders, including Dr. Christine Nabor-Ferrer and Dr. Maricelle M. Nueva, also shared messages highlighting international cooperation and educational partnerships.

    The celebration concluded with a photo opportunity among delegates and CHED Region 10 representatives, strengthening friendship, unity, and commitment to ASEAN ideals and future collaboration.

    Southern de Oro Philippines College extends its sincerest gratitude to the DMW Region 10 for conducting the Overseas Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar (PEOS) for our students from the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management and College of Teacher Education on March 24.

    Special thanks to Ms. Maria Edralyn M. Tenajeros and Mr. Norol Iman Mocali for their invaluable insights on responsible migration and worker protection. We also appreciate Ms. Alnirah O. Alikan for her excellent hosting. Equipping our graduates with the tools to navigate overseas employment safely is a vital part of their transition to the professional world.

    We look forward to more fruitful collaborations in the future!
